Who was Bill Gove?

During his life, Bill Gove influenced, taught, or mentored most of today’s most successful presenters.
Originally, Bill Gove was a corporate executive at Beechnut Manufacturing and later, the 3M corporation.
From the 1950’s until his death in 2001, Bill Gove gave over 5,000 paid speeches in many of the world’s greatest venues.
In 1954, Bill Gove was named “America’s #1 Salesman” by the Sales and Marketing Executives of America. 
In 1972, Bill Gove was elected the first President of the National Speakers Association.
In 1976, Bill Gove was inducted into the International Speakers Hall of Fame.
In 1980, Bill Gove received the Oscar of Public Speaking, The prestigious Cavett Award.
In 1991, Bill Gove received the Toastmasters International ‘Golden Gavel Award’.
In 2001, Bill Gove gave his last speech in September to an audience in Sanibel, Florida.
In 2001, Bill Gove died on December 9th of heart failure at age 89.
