UPR: Practical and Profound Wisdom for the 21st Century
As a nonprofit, online university dedicated to the pursuit of wisdom and excellence in online teaching and learning, our vision is a community of seekers who are continually discovering, applying, cultivating, and rediscovering practical and profound wisdom in the 21st century.
The mission of the University of Philosophical Research is to facilitate students’ exploration, discovery, application, cultivation, and rediscovery of wisdom in their personal, professional, and academic lives through excellence in online teaching and learning.
UPR looks to include wisdom from its every source and to make it accessible to all who value it.
The University of Philosophical Research:
Our name is not new.
It is not trendy.
It is timeless.
The Philosophical Research Society was founded in 1934 by Manly Hall to aid all those seeking wisdom in that troubled time, and beyond. Free from sectarian concerns, we have worked to help people of all faiths and philosophies connect with the timeless roots of their beliefs and apply them to the challenges they face in an ever changing world. Through depression, wars (both hot and cold) and the personal crises in each of our lives, we have sought to preserve and grow our connection to that light which is the birthright of all.
In the year 2001, the Philosophical Research Society founded the University of Philosophical Research to provide accredited programs with degrees rooted in eternal principles and employing the modern advantages of online learning.
To those seeking an education with a personal connection to the eternal within themselves, we offer our services.
